Dodgers president is out, McCourt back in charge

Dennis Mannion had been the guy the McCourts brought in to have an actual executive in charge of the team. He came in as chief operating officer in 2007 and was promoted to president/chief operating officer in March 2009. Now ties have been severed and Frank McCourt will "resume a more direct and active role in managing the organization," the team announced. General manager Ned Colletti and the business side will report directly to McCourt. Reaction from Times blogger Steve Dilbeck:

It was Mannion, of course, who absolutely trashed Jamie in a deposition in the McCourts' divorce proceedings, claiming she was frequently absent from executive meetings and not capable or interested in focusing on the team.

Frank thanked Mannion profusely for his support, and then showed him the door. What a workplace.
