East Coast praise of Sunset magazine

sunset-cover-1933.jpgOn the occasion of a new cookbook from Sunset, the New York Times heaps praise on the former booster publication of the Southern Pacific Railroad as the ultimate definer of California cuisine and the California image. "It is, in some ways, the Betty White of food magazines," the story says. Also from the piece: "'I think it is hip again,' says Suzanne Goin, the Los Angeles chef whose restaurants include A.O.C., Lucques and the Hungry Cat."
