Comings and goings

Coming: Kristina Schake will be joining the White House staff as Special Assistant to the President and Communications Director to the First Lady. Schake, founding partner with Chad Griffin of the Los Angeles strategic PR firm Griffin | Schake, has been senior communications strategist for California First Lady Maria Shriver, the Women’s Conference and the California Endowment’s Building Healthy Communities Initiative. She also was Communications Director for First 5 California.

Going: Maryna Hrushetska will step down as director of the Craft and Folk Art Museum on Museum Row effective December 30. She's been there six years and says in a release that she will be starting her own cultural consultancy firm "focused on global heritage and cultural understanding projects."
