Morning Buzz: Election results update

Kamala Harris leads Steve Cooley in the race for attorney general by 38,519 votes with more than 96% of the precincts tallied, including all of them in Los Angeles County. There are still provisionals and late absentees out there to count, so stay tuned. If Harris hangs on, that will complete a Democratic sweep of the statewide races in California. Cooley canceled the press conference he called for this morning, pending more results. John R. Noguez was elected county assessor. In Orange County, Democratic Rep. Loretta Sanchez beat challenger Van Tran.
