  • Jose H. Rodriguez, the founder and chef of Boyle Heights landmark La Serenata di Garibaldi, died in Santa Monica at 77. LAT blog item
  • Harold Katz, a longtime transportation activist and familiar byline on op-ed pages, died at age 77 at his West Los Angeles CPA firm. LA Business Journal
