It's print journalism's awards season

In advance of the Pulitzer Prizes on April 18, numerous organizations are giving out awards for print journalism from the past year. Here are some of the local winners in today's batch:

  • Scripps Howard Awards: Los Angeles Times for "Grading the Teachers;" Joe Saltzman of USC Annenberg, teacher of the year. Winners
  • Society of American Business Editors and Writers: Los Angeles Times; Los Angeles Business Journal; Orange County Register; Huffington Post Winners
  • American Copy Editors Society: Laura Dominick of the L.A. Times, Jill Reed of the Register, the Register staff, A.J. Baime of Playboy, Lauren Jow of the Daily Bruin at UCLA and the Daily Bruin staff. Winners


UCLA's Anderson School of Management will give out the Gerald Loeb Awards on June 28 in New York.
