Late-night talk show host to get in mayor's race

kevinjamesmug.jpgKevin James, who does midnight to 3 a.m. on conservative talk outlet KRLA, is throwing his microphone in the 2013 race for mayor in Los Angeles. He's been a supporter of the Ron Kaye wing in local politics — Kaye guests on his show weekly — and they will apparently appear together at City Hall on Wednesday to announce. A conservative candidate on a right-wing talk station when most people are asleep might seem gadfly-ish in liberal Los Angeles, but James has a campaign consultant — John Thomas — who has worked for real candidates. "If nothing else, James should make the race more entertaining," Gene Maddaus says at the LA Weekly's blog.
