The story behind Vancouver riot photo of kissing couple

vancouver-riot-kissers.jpgScott Jones, an Australian, and Alex Thomas, a Canadian, had been at the Stanley Cup finals seventh game and were caught in the post-loss rioting in downtown Vancouver. She had been knocked down by a police officer’s riot shield when Jones went down to comfort her and give her a kiss, says his mother near Perth, Australia. "I just thought, yep, that would be Scott because he’s a bit of a dreamer and he wouldn’t have even known there was a riot going on around him, quite possibly,” Ms. Jones said with a laugh. Thomas suffered minor scrapes and bruises. The couple is reportedly coming to California later this summer — hmm, which late-night show will they get on?
