SoCal journalist has head start on walk across America

kent-treptow.jpgFormer Daily Pilot photographer Kent Treptow is walking across the United States with his dog Hanna. By way of introduction, Treptow blogs, "A sense of adventure and a love of surfing, combined with a lack of direction, took him around the world after high school. After deciding he needed a real job, he went back to school and graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in communications....He holds on to the crazy idea that photography and storytelling can do good in the world, and has been fortunate enough to see results from his work that validate this belief." He appears to be near Lima, New York, after taking three days off to let a leg injury heal.

Yesterday, it was a newly-eligible American citizen taking off from New York City to walk to Los Angeles.
