Diana Nyad ends second swim after more stings

nyad-stops.jpgNyad got out of the water at about 8 a.m. Pacific time, after swimming 67 nautical miles from her starting point in Cuba. She had been stung again overnight by Portugese Man-of-War, and said her medical team advised her the stings "could have a long term cumulative effect on my body." On this Cuba to Florida try, Nyad had swum for 40 hours in stages — she was out of the water for more than three hours of medical treatment on Saturday night, according to her blog.

Saturday: Nyad stung multiple times, still swimming
