Political media note: Pilar Marrero

pilar-marrero-pic.jpgLa Opinión political columnist Pilar Marrero has reactivated her blog, in English and Spanish. Her latest post (and column) posits that Latino immigrants remain a sleeping giant in U.S. politics.

If just half of this 8 million naturalizes by election day - not possible at this point - we could have 2 million more Latino voters at a time when high Latino unemployment and foreclosure and anti immigrant laws that we care a lot about, are very much in the picture. We could have more influence, just like other minorities do.
