LAT photo gallery from Iraq *

c-cole-iraq-lat.jpgWith the last American troops crossing out of Iraq into Kuwait tonight, the L.A. Times photo blog Framework has posted an impressive gallery of images from the war. Many are by Carolyn Cole, the Times staff photographer who was there from the beginning. Check it out

* Noted: A local veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan emails to point out that the final photo in the Times' gallery, an emotional image of a child touching what is presumably his father's gravestone at Arlington National Cemetery, does not belong in an Iraq war collection. Army captain Brian Matthew Bunting was killed in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2009 and had not served in Iraq.
