Berman picks up a nice union endorsement

The Service Employees International Union in California will announce today its backing of Rep. Howard L. Berman in the San Fernando Valley showdown with fellow Democrat Rep. Brad Sherman. The SEIU says its unions in California represent 700,000 janitors, social workers, security officers, home care workers, school and university employees, healthcare workers, and city, county and state employees. It's a nod the Berman camp seems pretty happy to snag.

Speaking of Berman: Invitations are going out for a March 22 fundraiser in Washington hosted by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
