Vin Scully collects another trophy *

Scully-miller-scsb-hoo.jpgIn the 21 years that the Southern California Sports Broadcasters have given out awards, the group has voted Vin Scully the area's top radio play-by-play announcer 13 times. That's counting today's honor, received from LA Kings announcer Bob Miller during lunch at Lakeside Country Club in Toluca Lake. Scully has also won the group's TV play-by-play award ten times. Makes you kind of wonder: who were the others? (This year, Miller won the TV award.)

Mister Los Angeles is getting ready for his 63rd season in the Dodgers press box.

There were other winners, of course. The SCSB website hasn't posted the entire list yet, but Dick Enberg got a lifetime achievement award, Chris Roberts became the 26th man inducted into the group's hall of fame, and Daily News columnist Tom Hoffarth received a special achievement award.

Noted: Dodgers photographer Jon SooHoo has a blog now on the MBL Network.
