  • About $2 million was raised for marriage equality efforts at a star-studded reading of Dustin Lance Black’s play "8" at the Wilshire Ebell Theater Saturday night. Hollywood Reporter
  • Rush Limbaugh has now lost at least seven sponsors (at least temporarily) over his sex-themed personal attacks on a female law student. He apologized over the weekend for trying to be humorous, but conservative leader George Will says Republican leaders should stand up to Limbaugh. NYT, LAT, ABC
  • Former mayor Richard Riordan endorsed City Attorney Carmen Trutanich for DA.
  • The political battle over redistricting "threatens to tear the City Council apart," says Rick Orlov. DN/Tipoff
  • A La Mirada restaurant owner and volunteer deputy who threw a fundraiser for Sheriff Lee Baca was assigned a take-home county car. LAT
  • The Meruelo Group announced that KWHY-TV Channel 22 will be the flagship station for the new Fox Spanish language network “MundoFox,” to be headquartered in Los Angeles, and will carry at least 31 Galaxy and Chivas USA games. Also, Rolando Nichols joins Palmira Perez as news anchor.
  • Current TV will add morning simulcasts of the radio programs hosted by Bill Press and Stephanie Miller.
  • Nelson Avila-Lopez, who was deported to Honduras despite a judge's ruling that he should stay in the U.S., was one of 358 inmates who died in that big Honduras prison fire last month. KPCC
  • Daily News sportswriter Jon Gold writes about the death at 36 of his sister Amy, who was paralyzed in a car accident when she was 16. DN
