Buy an ad, get mass murder adjacency for free

I doubt that the Angels paid to have their web ads show up in the LA Times' online gallery of photos from yesterday's mass shooting of college students in Oakland. Seven students are dead, three others hurt. The suspect is in custody.

On point: A reader recently noticed the tacky ads that Tribune's other local news website, KTLA Channel 5, placed at the bottom of the page on a woman's murder in Studio City.
