Channel 4's Ana Garcia saves a hawk in Larchmont

Hawk-Face-larchmont-buzz.jpgAna Garcia, the investigative reporter on NBC 4, tweeted to her neighbors in the Larchmont area that she needed assistance with an injured hawk on Windsor Boulevard. She was pointed to the city's Animal Services department, which advised her to move the Cooper's Hawk to a tub. She did and things turned out OK — the bird was dehydrated but is in a rehab center now. The Larchmont Buzz website delivers the play-by-play — excerpt:

The Larchmont Village neighbors came together and in the space of a couple of hours did what they could to give this majestic bird a fighting chance at recovery....

The power of twitter – opening Ana’s world up by allowing her to tap into her 2,300 followers for advice — and connecting her to neighbors right on her street who offered on site help. Lucky bird!!
