Guy Adams hangs up his surfboard

Guy Adams, the Independent's man in Los Angeles for the last few years, is returning to London and starting after the new year as a feature writer for the Daily Mail. "Today I wrote my last ever article for the @independent. Fittingly, it was about the Elmo sex scandal," he tweeted on Wednesday. His fresh eye on the foibles of Los Angeles, Angelenos and America will be missed, especially on Twitter. Example: he tweeted this sign today from Mammoth Lakes, observing that it seems to show a stoned horse on a skateboard:

Earlier this year, you might recall Twitter suspended his account after NBC complained about his London OIympics observations.
