Frank McCourt gives $50,000 to Greuel PAC

frank-jamie-mccourt-star.jpgFormer Dodgers owner Frank McCourt — I guess we should call him the Dodger Stadium parking lots owner now? — shows up in the filings as a donor of $50,000 to Working Californians to elect Wendy Greuel Mayor 2013. That's the officially independent committee that says it will use big contributions from labor and the entertainment industry to buy TV ads for Greuel. His contribution was received on Wednesday, according to the committee — the same day that DWP union Local 18, the one controlled by Brian D'Arcy, pumped $450,000 into the committee, per filings.

The Greuel PAC reported a $525,000 media buy earlier in the week. The independent committee supporting Kevin James today reported a $351,000 media buy.

By the way: Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa today endorsed his boyhood friend, Gil Cedillo, for City Council. The old friends haven't always had the closest relations, personally or politically.
