Herald Examiner photographers to reunite at library

her-ex-pic-lapl.jpg
Former Los Angeles Herald Examiner photographers Paul Chinn, Anne Knudsen, Javier Mendoza, Mike Mullen, Jim Ober, and Jim Ruebsamen will gather at Central Library for a chat with another alum of the defunct paper, Dean Musgrove, now the photo editor of the Los Angeles Daily News. Many pictures will be shown, I'm sure. The photo morgue of the HerEx is held by the history department of the Los Angeles Public Library, and the library's photo curator, Christina Rice, put together the March 9 session for the group LAPL Photo Friends. It's a free event.

Photo by Dean Musgrove, 1989. Photograph caption dated October 15, 1989 reads, "The Los Angeles Free South Africa Movement will march and rally to mark the United Nations Official Day in Solidarity with South African political prisoners. Assembly at Jackie Robinson Stadium, march to Leimert Park, Leimert Boulevard and Vernon Avenue."
