Lakers win in overtime, avoid Thunder in playoffs

The Lakers squeezed past Houston 99-95 in their final game of the NBA regular season. The win gives LA the 7th seed in the playoffs and means the Lakers will open Sunday against the Spurs in San Antonio. By losing, Houston gets the 8th seed and has to go play the Oklahoma City Thunder — the conference's best team.

The Clippers, meanwhile, won in Sacramento to secure the 4th seed and home court advantage against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Clippers finished first in the Pacific Division. They open the playoffs Saturday at Staples Center.
