Puig finishes June with 4 more hits, Dodgers win

Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig ticked off some new firsts on Sunday: he hit his first triple, he collected his first four-hit game in the majors, and he also stole two bases. He was thrown out at third going for another stolen base. Puig has now played 26 games in the major leagues and has 44 hits, 7 of them home runs. His triple slash line in the big leagues is .436/.467/.713 for an OPS of 1180.

Puig's 44 hits in his first month is the National League record for a rookie. Only Joe DiMaggio, who got 48 hits in his first month in the American League in May 1936, had more.

The Dodgers beat the Phillies 6-1 and, while still in last place in the division, are only four games out of first place.
