LAX screener who 'shamed' teenage girl arrested for threats*

daughter-outfit-boingboing.jpgA newly resigned TSA screener at Los Angeles International was arrested last night in Riverside and accused of making threats against LAX. Some of the alleged threats made by Nna Alpha Onuoha, 29, involved the anniversary of 9-11, authorities say. Turns out that he is the TSA security official who last June told the 15-year-old daughter of LA journalists Mark Frauenfelder and Carla Sinclair to "cover herself" while going through security. The parents complained to TSA at the time. According to today's LA Times story, Onuoha resigned recently after being suspended.

Frauenfelder is one of the founding editors of BoingBoing.net.

* Update: Authorities say that the Nigerian-born Onuoha served for eight years as an infantryman in the National Guard and was deployed to Kosovo. Also, a website linked to Onuoha published several rambling letters that include references to 9/11 and the "end of the world," and a rant about the June incident with the girl that led to his suspension.
