Tom Bergin's to reopen with new owner

The plan is apparently to freshen things up a bit and reopen on December 1, according to Eater LA. "Tom Bergins Tavern, the iconic Irish pub on Fairfax, has been purchased by a gentleman named Derrick, a longtime regular who lives nearby the restaurant. The new ownership is bringing on T.K., one of the former owners of years past, as a consultant, and plans re-open for business by December 1," says the site. "Together they will adjust the concept slightly to reflect the best aspects of both the original place, as well as its most recent iteration, which was the result of a nearly year-long restoration and remodel....New ownership doesn't plan to change much of the interior, though the food and drink might see some adjustment to the everyman version of the old Tom Bergins."

Remember, there was much reminiscing and guest-blogging when Tom Bergin's closed in July.
