We do it for President Obama's visits, so take note: Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is coming to town this afternoon. For the Israeli PM the authorities close freeways and streets so his visit through Thursday will be noticed. From KPCC:

"We will be having what we call rolling closures, which means that some of those streets and routes will be closed temporarily for shorts periods of time. And as soon as motorcade passes those areas we will open up those streets and thoroughfares as quickly as possible," LAPD Lieutenant Andy Neiman said.

The 405 Freeway is expected to be closed between Wilshire Boulevard and the 105 Freeway for one hour starting at 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. And Santa Monica Boulevard may be shut down at about the same time between the 405 and Melrose Avenue.

KPCC has mapped the expected closures.
