Downtown streets closed for Kings' Stanley Cup parade

Figueroa Street will be closed from 3rd Street down to Pico Boulevard from about 10 am to 1 pm, the city says. Plan on some disruption of cross streets and a crowd along the parade route. The parade is scheduled to start about noon at the north end of the corridor, at 5th Street, and end at Staples Centers. Advance tickets are required for the arena. The double-decker buses carrying the Kings, their families and presumably the Stanley Cup will stage between 3rd and 5th. Full traffic plan

Later tonight, Mayor Eric Garcetti is expected to be on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to collect on his bet with New York Mayor Bill de Blasio. The New Yorker will sing Randy Newman’s “I Love LA.”
