Media notes for Wednesday 8.27.14

daily-news-editors.jpg

Los Angeles News Group executive editor Michael Anastasi tweeted a photo of some newsroom leaders at the Daily News. That's the new city editor, Laura Greanias, at the far left, then assistant city editor Helene Goldsen, digital photo editor Miriam Velasquez and LANG's deputy opinion editor Jessica Keating. Not shown is Carolina Garcia, who lists herself on Twitter as "senior editor Daily News [and] Managing editor for enterprise/projects, Los Angeles News Group."

More media notes:

  • Nikki-Finke-NikkiStink.com.jpgAn anonymous website has posted a recent, apparently true video and photos of entertainment blogger Nikki Finke, obtained by stalking her West Hollywood building. The tone of NikkiStink.com is both sanctimonious and threatening, warning in an open letter to Finke that it's "dedicated to all of those that have been hurt, maligned, destroyed, abused or threatened by you, which allowed you to profit in the millions of dollars for hurting people. There is much more to be posted here in the next many months, however, what is posted and how much will be determined by your decision on whether or not you continue to hurt people." Actual motives unknown, and actual participants in the site completely undisclosed. THR
  • Los Angeles writer Heather Havrilesky's “Ask Polly” existential advice column has moved from The Awl — "one of the best gigs of my career" — to The Cut at New York magazine. Last one there, first one here.
  • "Off-Ramp" on Saturday will pay tribute to the final edition of "Leonard Maltin’s Movie Guide," Saturday at noon on KPCC.
  • Photojournalist Phil Stern has donated 95 of his Hollywood and World War II photographs to the Veterans Home of California – West Los Angeles in celebration of his 95th birthday.
