Mark Thompson returns to Fox 11 weather desk

When Mark Thompson left KTTV Fox 11 in 2011, it ended 20 years or so in which he handled a variety of hosting and producing roles for the station and became known as the dancing weathercaster. Here's why, from his final show on June 3, 2011.

As fans probably know, Thompson was back in front of the Channel 11 weather screen over the weekend, but it's not a full-on return. Just filling in for a bit, he says on Twitter.

Recently he was a talk show host on KFI AM 640 with another LA television news figure, Elisabeth Espinosa. Their day-time show ended last fall. Thompson is also now hosting a podcast show, The Edge.
