Women and Joe Francis

In re: The LAT's duty to spike the Joe Francis story:

What pernicious nonsense! I don't know whether or not they checked into Francis's background beforehand. I imagine they did--the reporter is a business reporter, after all. So they check into it, and they find out he's a violent schmuck. Should a woman then not be assigned because it's too "dangerous"? Please.
