Nobody lives in L.A.?

Regarding the head-scratcher premise of an interview question asked of Arianna Huffington...

Nobody lives 'in' LA" is about as accurate a premise as saying 'nobody lives on the West Side' of Manhattan. Some of us do--even East of La Cienega and South of the 10!--and actually enjoy it. Don't know about Sidney Pollack, but if Arianna still lives in Brentwood, she lives in LA. Just ask her neighbor, former mayor Richard Riordan.

If the city, as Huffington notes, is more of a frozen TV dinner than a melting pot, it could be that wealthy Angelenos who don't see themselves as a larger part of the community might be part of the problem...

Proud LA Resident (really),
