Responding to Richard Fausset

Regarding the Los Angeles Times Atlanta bureau chief's email...

• Did anyone else notice that all of Richard Fausset's examples of "personality" coverage are (or very close to) two years old? And that one of them ran eight years ago? I know we're talking about specific people mentioned by Bruce Feirstein, but it's amusing that Fausset didn't cite any recent examples of this type of big-name coverage. Or is it that he couldn't think of any, which shows the kind of impact the current version of the Times is having on its own writers, let alone its readers.
