I've driven all over the rural West and love the road, but I loathe the return leg to L.A. from Vegas on I-15. Great scenery, idiotic drivers. Too many hog the left lane or race in the right, they tailgate crazily, and they only seem aware of the five feet directly in front of their hoods. So of course there are lots of bad crashes. Hugo Martin in the Times confirms my biases and finds that accidents are up.
