Jim Bellows grabs another honor

Jim Bellows, the respected editor who at different times headed the L.A. Times features coverage and ran the Herald Examiner, has been awarded the Clurman Award for Mentoring. That's something given by the Livingston Awards, which honor journalists under the age of 35. The website describes Bellows as editor emeritus of the New York Herald Tribune, the Washington Star and the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner. "Among the prominent journalists inspired by Bellows are Jimmy Breslin, Tom Wolfe, Mary Murphy, Gail Sheehy, and Jill Krementz." Wolfe presented the award today in New York.

Update: LAT profile of Bellows from last year is online here.
