Media Life magazine today gave its Best of the Best award for radio to Marketplace, the daily news program produced in Los Angeles that airs locally on KCRW and KPCC. Marketplace is from Minnesota Public Radio in association with the University of Southern California. David Brancaccio is the voice of the show and senior editor, J.J. Yore the executive producer.

Monica Almeida has the perspective of a native Angeleno who photographs Los Angeles for an East Coast newspaper: the New York Times.
Marketplace is an easy listen, but it is fluff, sort of like the USA today of financial journalism. So I don't get why it is receiving awards. But congratulations.
