Scott Berg's Hepburn secret is out

Twenty years ago, award-winning Los Angeles author A. Scott Berg began talking with his friend Katharine Hepburn about her life. Four years ago, he began writing a combination biography and collaborative memoir, agreeing not to publish or really discuss the book until after Hepburn's death. Upon her death, however, she wanted the book to be promptly published, Berg says. Kate Remembered will be released by G.P. Putnam's Sons on July 11.

Berg, a winner of the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize, is the author of Max Perkins: Editor of Genius, Goldwyn: A Biography and Lindbergh.
