Valley drivers beware

One of the new community news websites listed on the right is Canyon Newspaper.com, which says it covers the hills from Malibu to Hollywood. (The mission statement also includes "saving animals.") I found it through a posting by Joe Buff from August showing that the highest-traffic intersections in L..A. are not the most-ticketed streets.

Busiest intersections, in order:

Highland-Franklin
Wilshire-Veteran
Sherman Way-Sepulveda
Sepulveda-Victory
Sepulveda-Lincoln

Most-ticketed spots, #1 through 10:

Roscoe near Nagle
San Fernando near Sheldon
Balboa near Sherman Way
Balboa near Victory
Balboa near Valerio
De Soto near Multnomah
Balboa near Sherman Way
Nordhoff near Hoonbean
Balboa near Calahan
Beverly near Glendale

Moral of the story: drive slowly on Balboa Blvd. Nine of the high-ticket spots are in the Valley. Buff has the numbers on his site -- the top spot had 898 tickets written, presumably in a year although he doesn't say so.

I thought Wilshire and Westwood was the busiest intersection and has been for years? Now it's not even top 5?
