A senior business officer at the USC Annenberg School for Communication misappropriated at least $100,000 before leaving the university last year, the campus Daily Trojan reports. Lisa Colleen Grabow used USC funds to remodel her home, hire a babysitter and pay for personal moving expenses, among other unauthorized charges, according to a civil lawsuit filed by the university. Grabow also put her husband on the payroll at the USC Law Library and forged a dean's signature on check requests to pay for fictitious lecturers, the suit alleges.
I'm a second year grad student at Annenberg, and I broke this story in the DT, after investigating a nearly two-year old rumor that was still being repeated around the school.
I think it's interesting to see how news make the rounds ... you guys plugged my story on Monday, the Times ran a brief on Tuesday ... thanks for noticing!
