A mellower Mike Davis

The author of Los Angeles studies City of Quartz and The Ecology of Fear has a new science-adventure tale for children out called Land of the Lost Mammoths. Susan Salter Reynolds catches up with Davis in today's L.A. Times Calendar, with a sidebar on the book's publisher, Perceval Press. The small imprint was co-founded by actor Viggo Mortensen and Pilar Perez, formerly of Santa Monica's Track 16 gallery.
