The June issue of Reason magazine with a customized satellite photo of each subscriber's home on the cover is starting to arrive in mailboxes. The New York Times (and L.A. Observed, of course) told people about it back in early April. Today, the L.A. Times goes into some detail on how and why it was done.
Previously on L.A. Observed: They know where you live
Clarification that only a Reason contributor could care about -- the article described the mag as "Libertarian" instead of "libertarian," therefore implying an affiliation with the Libertarian Party, of which there is nada (much to the Party's consternation).

maybe they should have titled it, "We know where your mail lives."
It's a neat trick but heaven knows that most people with real privacy concerns use mail drops and keep their real estate in the name of relatively anonymous trusts.
