Friends and family of the late Times media and food critic David Shaw celebrated his life Sunday at Stephen S. Wise Temple. Times film critic Kenneth Turan led the event, with eulogies delivered by (among others) Shaw's wife Lucy, son Lucas and stepchildren, Times reporters Henry Weinstein, Sonia Nazario and Robert Lee Hotz, former Times editor William F. Thomas, Gourmet magazine editor Ruth Reichl, and Piero Selvaggio of the Valentino restaurants. Those who attended guessed that about 300 people were there, including restaurateur Wolfgang Puck, former Times editor Michael Parks and new editor Dean Baquet.
