New York Times

Another NYT push into L.A.

On Movies coverIf you go to the movies at CityWalk, Beverly Center or the Magic Johnson Theatres, you'll soon get some new entertainment for those nineteen minutes [seems awfully high!] that on average we supposedly wait for the show to start. On Dec. 16 the New York Times launches On Movies, a free magazine stuffed with NYT content to be given away at the Loews Cineplex theatres in several cities. Here that includes the Broadway on Third Street Promenade and the Marina Marketplace. The magazine will include staff reviews, celebrity profiles and other features. Deputy culture editor Jim Schachter (a former LAT reporter and editor) oversees the new pub. Keira Knightley as Domino adorns the cover being marketed to advertisers.
