Todd Purdum, the former Los Angeles bureau chief for the New York Times who also has covered the White House, will depart the paper's Washington bureau at the end of the year to become national editor at Vanity Fair. Romenesko has the NYT memo. Purdum is married to Dee Dee Myers, the former Bill Clinton press secretary (and "West Wing" adviser) who used to be a deputy to Tom Bradley here in the L.A. mayor's office.
