I didn't notice this anywhere else, but the Daily Breeze story on yesterday's dueling Sacramento dog-and-pony shows over LAUSD control mentions that Mayor Villaraigosa has retained KP Advocates to help him lobby. They are one of the biggest, if not the biggest, professional lobbying shops in the capital. He'll pay for it out of the Mayor's Committee for Government Excellence and Accountability fund he started to raise private cash for the LAUSD fight.

Also up north: The Bee's Dan Weintraub explains Schwarzenegger's web strategy to get around the media with a blog and other direct-to-voters communication, led by former Bush White House webmaster Jimmy Orr. The Governor answered questions from supposed non-plants during a live on-line session this morning.

From BoifromTroy: Schwarzenegger will address a fundraiser of the gay Log Cabin Republicans in Hollywood next week.
