Help in Santa Barbara

Jerry Roberts, the top editor who resigned rather than doctor the news for Wendy McCaw at the News-Press, is asking for donations to help fight a $25 million arbitration claim against him and defend the other journalists that McCaw has gone after. "Amid the ongoing exodus of dozens of professional journalists from the News-Press," Roberts writes, "the paper’s owner has filed a flurry of legal threats, claims and lawsuits against people who dared to speak out or report about what was happening in the newsroom."
