Glenn Bunting took the buyout from the L.A. Times last month and signed on at Sitrick and Company. Guess he makes his old colleagues nervous. Check out this email that just flew out to the staff:

From: Sharkey, Betsy
Sent: Thu 7/19/2007 12:56 PM
Subject: Help - Glenn Bunting alert

Help requested

Please don't give Glenn Bunting access to the building today - we believe he's trying to get an early look at a Calendar story on one of his Sitrick & Co PR clients - he said he was going to be coming down today to turn in some american express bills for Meredith?

Right after this email went out, a staffer replied: "We're readying the cauldrons of boiling oil over here in the test kitchen."

As newspapers and television pull back from investigative reporting, foundations and other organizations are beginning to fill the void. One of the most interesting is Accountable California, a project of Local 721 of the Service Employees International Union.
