Christine Daniels on 'Day to Day'

The transsexual sportswriter formerly known as Mike Penner is interviewed by host Madeleine Brand on tomorrow's NPR show. It airs at 9 am on KPCC-FM or can be heard online.

This morning's "Day to Day" carried a report on Los Angeles bridge inspections with a focus on the Colfax Avenue bridge over the Los Angeles River in Studio City. As it happens, the original Colfax bridge went down in the ginormous 1938 flood that led to the concrete-ing of the river and the construction of Sepulveda Dam, and produced a nice photo from that era.
