The door swings both ways

Une petite update to this morning's item about Jason Reid heading off to cover football for the WaPo. The mention about the LAT's sports section losing two African American reporters prompted this e-mail:

...in the case of the LAT sports staff mention this morning, could you point out that, in the same period of time that we've lost two African American sportswriters, that we've hired one African American and two Latinos? I don't want anyone to get the impression that we're becoming less diverse when, in fact, we're becoming more so.

Done. (Now about adding more women...)
