Patt Morrison's eponymous daily KPCC talk show, which shines a light on culture and politics, goes to two hours beginning Monday. More time means lots more stories for the popular broadcast. Here's the memo:

This expansion will significantly increase the local coverage 89.3 KPCC provides every day, and allows the Patt Morrison team greater freedom. “With a two-hour broadcast, we will have the flexibility to move quickly through a lot of material, or focus on an issue that deserves more comprehensive coverage,” stated Morrison.

Patt Morrison has an extensive and distinguished career in journalism. In addition to her daily public affairs program on 89.3 KPCC, Morrison has a syndicated column in over 200 newspapers (including the Los Angeles Times) and hosts various television shows and lectures on political and social issues.

“Patt’s long time coverage and insights make her one of the area’s leading minds and voices on the most important issues in Southern California. Her back-story on the area provides a deep, thoughtful and entertaining commentary and provocative on-going conversation,” commented Jarl Mohn, a member of the Southern California Public Radio Board of Trustees.

Look for Patt every weekday from 1 - 3 p.m. on 89.3 KPCC-FM. (You'll still be able to hear Fresh Air at 7PM.)
