Developer Dan Palmer falsely claimed that his company is the sole owner of the property in Newhall Pass where he wants to build the Las Lomas project with L.A.'s blessing, Councilman Greig Smith and Assemblyman Cameron Smyth charged, asking for a law enforcement investigation. Another owner has said Palmer is trying to take his land away. Palmer's spokesman called today's move part of a smear campaign. The project proposed on 550 acres where the 5 and 14 freeways meet would rival Playa Vista in size. Palmer wants Los Angeles to annex the currently unincorporated land, which would make his project eligible for city water. DN, LAT
