Harry Shearer and Ana Garcia, together

The common link is the Los Angeles Press Club. Shearer, the actor and host of a popular KCRW show, will emcee the club's June 21 awards dinner at the Biltmore downtown. Garcia, KNBC's anchor and investigative reporter, will receive that night the Joseph M. Quinn Award for lifetime achievement. Entries for the other awards are being taken until April 8.

Also: New LAT editor Russ Stanton speaks at the club March 27. And there's a book party scheduled April 30 for LA Observed contributor David Rensin.
